In order to create a VCDX design it is good to know what components are needed to create one. A VCDX design is more then just one diagram.

This article is part of my VCDX blog article series that can be found here.

From my point of view the following components are needed as a minimum:

1) The architectural design document (with logical and physical design diagrams) ---> Design factor description what you are going to build and how.

2) A implementation guide ---> Step-by-step instructions on how to build the environment

3) A test validation guide ---> Verify if the architecture does what is specified in the archtectureal design document

4) An operational guide ---> What are day-to-day operational tasks that need to be done and how to maintain the environment
